Is this cat spinning a yarn rather than playing with it?My busy previous day had carried over to today and I was feeling a bit frazzled and unsettled. I wondered how I would be calm enough to try to practice today. I got an image of a chocolate cookie with a bite out of it. I understood it to mean: you already took a bite (yesterday), you can't stop now! (After all, who stops eating a cookie after starting?) When I say I understood something to mean a certain thing, it's just a knowing. Like if you saw a guy with a grimace shaking his fist at someone, you would know immediately that he's angry about something. Sure, there are a lot of clues there, but you are still able to translate without someone telling you the guy is angry. That's the kind of knowing I'm talking about. It might be second nature to many and so they don't notice it, but it's definitely something to be aware of, because it's part of animal communication! That said, I won't lie. I still always worry, "What if I don't get any messages? What if I can't connect? What if it doesn't work? Today, after listening again to the Raise Your Vibration binaural track (see the link in Day 1), I thought I'd try to talk to Johnnie the cat, who was posted in the Speak! Facebook group. I first asked what he likes to eat. I kind of got some imagery of some dry food, but wasn't sure. So I asked again and this time I seemed to get that he likes wet, fishy food and saw him licking his lips. I could almost taste the saltiness! This sometimes happens for me, but not on command. I asked, "Can you show me what you like to do?" I tried to visualize being there in the room with him as he turned to show me…and I followed him to the back door with a cat door on it and out to a big open yard, mostly grass and a few trees or shrubs. On one side of yard, the grass and landscape just sort of went on and on, like it opened up to a big park and went on almost dramatically to the horizon (almost like the ending to a sappy movie). I asked, "Are you allowed to go off and roam where you want?" He kind of looked embarrassed and admitted no, but he travels in other ways. See where that feeling of drama fit in? If this conversation is true, he was telling me with much bravado that he would just head out into the wild blue yonder and explore like the fearless adventurer he is. He showed me how there is no end to his territory. Can you imagine a human world adventurer recounting such a story — with the same bravado? On the other hand, perhaps in reality he isn't allowed to do those things, but he could still know about the experience because many cats do travel through the dreamworld or inter-dimensionally, so maybe he does that? I then asked him what he likes to do and he answered he likes to watch things. I saw him watching intently from the sidelines at all the activity in the house. I asked, "Do you have anything you want to tell me?" He answered, "I like being a cat. To lead the world from such a small body is a wonderful thing." I asked him if I could see through his eyes and got a vision of a Persian rug, a wood coffee table, and a whitish sofa. By this time, I was having my usual doubts as to whether this was real or accurate or whether my mind was having the time of its life with me. So I decided to ask the question that puts fear into the hearts of so many learning communicators: "Can you show me something that will verify that I'm really connecting with you?" He paused to think and then said, "I can talk with Gingersnap, the dog who lives with you." I said, "She's sleeping now." To which he replied, "I'll wake her up and have her come to you." This was quite a challenge he laid out for himself, I thought. Again, he was offering it with an underlying bravado. I said, "Okay, if you can do that, I'll know we are really talking." He said, "This may take a few minutes." The Plot ThickensGingersnap was asleep about five feet from me and I began turning every few minutes to monitor her. No results after the first few minutes. So I asked, "Johnnie, are you going to wake her and have her visit me?" He replied quite confidently, "Yes, I'm still working on it." Minutes later, still nothing. I thought I'd try to help out. "Johnnie, you could tell her I will give her one of the bones she likes if she comes over to me." I had the particular kind of bone pictured in my mind. "It sounds wretched, but I will give it a try," he answered. Still nothing, though Ginger stirred and gave a little bark. So I kind of wondered to Johnnie if maybe we should call it a day. I think his ego was bruised a bit, because he replied, "I don't know about this 'proof' thing, but I know I'm me. It's up to you to decide if the 'you' you are is really talking to me." I didn't mean to offend him. So I told him I'm just trying to build my confidence. When I can confirm anything I'm hearing, it helps. He said, "I see what you mean. Well, I was born in February, I know that. You can confirm that with my mom." "Okay, I'll see how that goes," I replied. "Thank you for talking to me!" And that was that. Did I make it all up — this humorous exchange full of fanciful ideas? Some InsightsI recounted some of this conversation to my wife and she reminded me that everyone is different. Johnnie could be a high-level soul, full of wisdom and awareness in this life, or he could just be a cat who wants to see it that way. Like when you ask kids (or men!) something and instead of telling you they don't know, they make up an answer so as not to lose face. She also reminded me of the spiritual leader, Mike Dooley, who sends out daily wisdom in the form of a note from the Universe. A recent one said: "Best case scenario, Josh, you really are a magnificent, powerful, divine Being of Light; your thoughts really do become things; nothing is impossible; your dreams are meant to be; and these Notes really are from an ancient, wise, all-loving, all-knowing best friend. Worst case scenario, Josh, you're just dreaming you're a magnificent, powerful, divine Being of Light; your thoughts really do become things; nothing is impossible; your dreams are meant to be; and these Notes really are from an ancient, wise, all-loving, all-knowing best friend. And the difference would be? — The Universe" So maybe my mind is creating a conversation. Maybe I'm really hearing the conversation from Johnnie. Either way, I'm really hearing the conversation! I'm good with that. Just then, at the end of my conversation with my wife, Gingersnap walked in with one of her bones in her mouth, wanting me to fill it with treats. It wasn't the bone I originally had in mind, but… Feedback from Johnnie's People...
