After introducing myself, BooBoo said he was agreeable to a body scan. I explained that a body scan is a way to look at the body and see if there's anything wrong. He immediately got a kind of sullen, embarrassed, slumped "tail between the legs" look and said "I have something wrong." I asked what it was and saw what looked like a bluish, rippled blanket over the top part of his back and a bit down his front legs. It wasn't an actual blanket or separate from him. I asked what it was and he said "It's itchy." I asked if he wanted me to scratch it and he said, "No, sometimes it hurts." I continued scanning, which was more like picturing him and waiting for him to show me anything else. I started feeling these pops in and around me, almost like little firecrackers were going off in different areas of my body. But I understood it meant that's what he was feeling. It seems mostly concentrated in his torso. I asked him how he felt and he immediately wanted to assure me he could still play and do things, but I felt some stiffness in his front legs, especially the right one. He then showed me his top right side of his mouth. "See that? I lost a tooth!" Does he have any problems with incontinence? I finally said, "BooBoo, I don't like looking for problems!" "Some people think it's necessary, but it's not for everyone," he replied. "How about I send you some healing and you can get back to playing?" I offered. He answered with a big smile and bounded off. "Thanks for the talk," I called after him. He again answered with a smile over his shoulder. BooBoo is a sweet, happy dog who really wants to please and this sometimes makes him feel bad when he doesn't think he's living up to real or imagined expectations.
