It's easy to get discouraged when learning animal communication, especially when what seems to be working for others doesn't work for you. That's why taking a step back, using your own personal filter and thinking and some common sense, and realizing that just because someone says something, doesn't mean it's true for you, can make all the difference in the world.
It may be true for them, but what about you?
1. "Anyone can learn this skill."
True! And anyone can learn to play football. But not everyone has the physique, the athleticism, or the mentality to play at the same level. Some people are simply going to have an affinity for it and others not so much, no matter how strong the desire.
2. "By the end of this workshop/book/course/system, you'll be communicating."
You certainly may have some degree of success. Or it may not quite be your time. Any number of things can trigger your own "awakening," and it's different for everyone. Being assured that everyone succeeds at it on the same schedule only sets you up to wonder what's wrong with you if it doesn't happen for you like it has for everyone else.
3. "All it takes is practice."
Practice surely is a key element in mastering anything and fine-tuning your skill set. But you could be practicing for months or years with minimal success because you haven't found what specifically works for you. If you have tried one method for a while and it's not working well or at all, try a new one!
4. "Your animals already understand everything you say. You just don't understand them yet."
While it's true animals think more visually — more telepathically — than we do, just like humans, they haven't all developed their capacities at the same levels. Some animals have strong connections to the spirit worlds and even other dimensions. Some love to talk psychically. And some are simply focused on other things like dog or cat or horse stuff. So if you are trying to communicate with them and it's not working, don't assume it's just you who's the problem!
5. "It's not ethical to communicate with animals before asking their people for permission."
It's nice to think of our companion animals as our "kids" and to treat them that way. But many of our animals are far more worldly and aware than we are. They may even be thinking of us as their kids! At the very least, they are all able to talk to whom they wish and decline conversations at will. Both of these things will happen whether a human gives permission or not!
6. "Crystals, diet, healing, affirmations, belief in a higher power, meditation…all help you communicate."
They have helped many people and they might be just what you need to be the animal communicator you want to be. Or none of those may work for you! We are all so unique and each require our own special formula for success — and we get to explore this lifetime for the ingredients that work best for us.
7. "This animal loves to talk. She'd be a great one to practice with."
Just because one person had a lively conversation with a particular animal, doesn't ensure that you will. Personalities, moods, timing, skills and abilities, can all affect your interaction. Trying to communicate with "talkative" animals is a great opportunity. But go in with an open mind rather than banking your success on someone else's.
8. "Calling in energetic protection is essential before communicating."
Using prayers, spells, angel power, and other forms of energetic protection can help shield you from others' energy and limit yours from affecting them…if either of you are sensitive to those things. Putting yourself in a clear, loving heartspace with pure intentions before connecting can also be perfect. After all, sharing energy is a collaboration requiring an invitation or permission, though often unconsciously. When you take care of your end, you empower others to take care of theirs.
9. "You have to want it enough, believe enough, release enough fears, heal enough past traumas, follow this specific routine."
The world is filled with well-meaning advice. But just because one person found success one way, doesn't mean others will in that same way. Keep exploring what feels right to you. There's a magic formula just for you that only you can devise. Ans usually simpler is better.
10. "You're probably doing it wrong."
There are no wrong ways, just ways that work better for you. If something that is working for someone else is not working for you, try a different approach. It's this reason there are hundreds of religions, ways to meditate, ice cream flavors, and dog training methods — and millions of people who prefer one way over another.
