10 ways Joanne Yeoh is using, supporting, and partnering with Speak! Good Human to grow her business, support her students, and become more visible to the world of learners looking for guidance.
Speak! Good Human was founded as a 100% free resource to help learners practice and advance at their own pace, schedule, and style. It has since expanded to help them find their way to a perfect teacher if they are looking for extra guidance and to help teachers support their existing students as well as find new ones. Instead of paying for such rewards through advertising, paid promotions, or other fees, teachers can access everything the site offers for free simply by supporting and enriching this online resource with their wisdom and unique teaching styles.
And no one is doing this better than UK professional communicator and teacher, Joanne Yeoh!

Building Confidence and Comfort Levels |
Joanne's teaching style is very personal and hands-on. Instead of teaching through large workshops or specific coursework, she runs an online group where she works to build skills and confidence in small groups, one-on-one, and through video. This approach really allows her students to get to know her and feel comfortable with her style. Since this is the same concept Speak! Good Human runs on, Joanne started benefiting immediately after participating on the site. I thought it would be helpful for others to see how one person is using the site's many features and offerings with incredible results.

10 ways Joanne is using, supporting, and partnering with Speak! Good Human.
1. Practice Den.
These are freely available to teachers to help support their students, which is exactly how Joanne uses hers. It allows her to host animals effortlessly and offers a built-in system for sending in conversations. She simply sends me the animal photos and details, plus any other resources she wants in her den and I take care of it all, from updates and layouts to tech stuff and troubleshooting. Students can visit her den, meet dozens of animals she rotates and adds to on a regular basis, and send in their conversations directly from the page. Conversations then automatically go to the animal's person and to Joanne, who makes sure feedback is prompt and thorough. Students also get a copy of what they sent in, which is great for tracking their progress.
2. Ask the Pros |
3. The Animal Communication Practice Challenge |
This is a page where learners can ask AC questions and any professional can answer them. Answers remain on the site forever and always include the professional's photo, bio, and website, not only enabling them to be seen by learners from all over the world, but to build credibility as an expert. Joanne has answered quite a few questions with very thoughtful answers that show she really cares. She has even used video to answer some of the questions!
4. Special OffersAt the end of the two months of free practice in her den, Joanne did several things to continue the momentum and goodwill she built during the Challenge and give students a clear path forward. First, she offered a free webinar about what steps to take next after the Challenge.
Second, she introduced a special price for her monthly confidence-builder group. Many students who got their AC start in her practice den were now thrilled to be able to continue working with someone who they were already comfortable with and who knew them and their style well. Third, she continued freely offering her den to anyone who wished to practice. This kind of assisted practice is also featured on the Guided Practice page, making it easy for learners to find practice support if they need it.
6. My Animal Communication BreakthroughAnother feature that fit Joanne's style of showing her vulnerable side to her students is My Animal Communication Breakthrough — a page that showcases breakthrough stories on video so others can see that everyone struggles but perseverance pays off. Joanne was the first to volunteer for this and several of her students have since followed with very empowering results!

By participating in this month-long event, held twice a year in February and August, Joanne taps into the mother lode! The Practice Challenge is designed to inspire learners to get back to practicing, enhance their skills, or even begin their AC journeys. Thousands of learners from more than 50 countries visit the site to practice and learn during Challenge months.
During her first Challenge participation, Joanne made it known (I feature this kind of thing in the What's New tab and publicize it on Facebook) that for two full months — one month prior to and then during the Challenge month — she would support any student who wished to practice in her den. This meant ensuring they all got prompt, supportive feedback from both her and the animals' people. It really worked to draw in the many learners with beginner's jitters and need a helping hand until they get started. It also worked to introduce them to Joanne and her style, making them feel very comfortable with her. She reinforced this by participating in my daily Challenge posts on the Facebook page, where I feature wisdom from a different professional each day designed to help learners. In exchange for the wisdom and support, I link to the pro's Facebook page, and the advice poster features their website and photo — a great way to introduce yourself to aspiring communicators around the world. 5. Free Gift
In addition to her offers, Joanne introduced a free gift of a full month in her confidence builder group — enough time for students to explore, experience, and decide if it was right for them. This free offer appears in the Gift Room for extra exposure, as well as in her Practise Den. |
7. Free Webinars |
8. Videos |
Continuing to show learners who she is and how she can help, Joanne creates very pertinent free webinars at various times (like before, during, and after the Challenge) on topics designed to help students take the next steps or find their paths. By tying in her practice den and the services she offers through Speak! Good Human, I was open to co-sponsoring the webinars and promote them on the Speak! site and Facebook. I'm always interested in partnering in this way if it will genuinely help learners advance and introduce them to teachers in an authentic, non-promotional way.

A big believer in videos, Joanne has created quite a few to help students, such as "How to Telepathically Ask an Animal Questions" and "How Much Information is Needed About an Animal to do a Reading?" By hosting these on Speak! and on Speak!'s YouTube channel, essentially making them a valuable, exclusive resource for site-goers, she has enhanced the learning experience and gained lots of exposure.

9. General Site Practice
Though Joanne typically has more than 20 rotating animals in her Den, she also takes advantage of the more than 200 other animals available on the site. One way she has done this is to select animals from the public practice areas and include them also in her den in a special section. Instead of conversations going to the animal's people, she collects the submissions and then sends them all at once to the animal's person, who then gives feedback on them all either in writing or in a special video call with the group. To build confidence and show the students they really are getting this, she collates all the conversations by grouping all like information. As students begin to see that what they received from the animal is very similar to what others did, their confidence shoots up and they really advance.
10. Deep Speak!
I love new ideas and welcome others to let me know how they need or want to work so that I can try to accommodate. Joanne approached me at the beginning of 2020 with an interest in helping her students experience how she does her professional communication sessions: through live video with her clients. It's another option and style that goes way beyond the more typical written communications, but that really speaks to some people. So I created Deep Speak, a site-wide opt-in program that pre-qualifies animals and their people and makes them available for video calls or serial interactions.
Students initiate a Deep Speak conversation by arranging it with Joanne, who sets up the Zoom call with the animal's person. Calls are usually part of a series of 2-3 conversations the student has with the animal, allowing them to go deeper, respond to additional questions from the person, and often even delve into family issues and interactions that help resolve conflicts with other animals in the house. Through video, conversations are more fluid and in-the-moment and the breakthroughs for students, animals, and their people have been incredible and emotional. Any teacher is welcome to use the Deep Speak program as part of their own teaching curriculum. |
The video above features some of the successful outcomes of this Deep Speak program as well as some of the students and "pet parents" who have participated and are talking about their positive experiences.

An Investment That Has Paid Off |
How about you? |
Clearly, Joanne's participation on Speak! Good Human has paid off, as her involvement has given learners an inside view of who she is, how she works, and made her services feel very accessible and non-intimidating. Could she have gotten the same results by participating with just one or two of the site features? Maybe. But what she has done is use every possible way that feels right for her to introduce her true self to prospective students; shown herself in an authentic, caring way; built a rapport and her credibility; and supported her ongoing students in a variety of ways that make them feel like she always has their back and is working sincerely to help them progress. She's thrilled with the results. Learners are grateful to find and work with such a guide. And I couldn't be happier, as she is using Speak! Good Human as intended — to help students progress and to make it easier for teachers to help their students.

If you'd like to participate on the site in any of these ways — or have other ideas for site features or processes that may work better for you — I'd love to hear from you and look forward to helping site visitors get to know you. Always free, no strings attached!
