The Original World Wide WebI began by listening to Solfeggio 639 Hz: Activate The Power Of The Heart. I tried to calm my mind and body, connect my heart and brain so they are on the same page, and open my heart chakra. I wanted to leave myself open to any conversation that comes to me, without having to force anything. So often, if feels like to ensure success and have a conversation, there's a self-imposed pressure to perform or produce that conversation. So the mind might kick into gear and start manufacturing something just to make you happy! In that open state I began with today, the image of a spider flashed in my mind. I had just seen it tucked away in a corner of our house, completely enclosed by its semi-transparent web cocoon. I asked if the spider wanted to talk and it replied, "I have the time." "How long have you lived here?" I asked. "20 nights," she said. Then continued, "I just want to say, we appreciate the sanctuary you have created here." Before she could finish, I cut her off and tried to push the comment out of my mind. It sounded self-congratulatory and I thought my mind was taking an unplanned (and unsanctioned) ego trip. But the spider said firmly, "No, let me finish." So I did. "You have created a safe space here for animals large and small. It does not go unnoticed. This is true respect for all beings. Thank you." I explained, "We don't kill anything in our house if we can help it. Anything we don't wish in the house, we simply escort out. And lately, I've been talking to them in the hope they will leave on their own. So, you're welcome. I deeply respect you and your life." Turning my attention back to her activities here, I asked, "So, what are you doing?" "Cold storage. My time in this life is nearing the end. It's time to move on." She sensed my sadness around this and immediately explained more. "I am safe. You are safe. We are all safe in this game (of life). As you grow and transform, so grows your own web of life — the connections that stretch from here to there and touch every part of where you've been and where you are going. Our webs (spiders) are just reminders of that. They are physical records of our days here, displaying that which has blown through, flown by, stopped in for a bite. And sometimes, oftentimes, we start again, with a new web, a new beginning. It doesn't erase what happened in the old web. That remains in dimension. But it does give you a fresh start, which can create space for a fresh perspective. "Everything in life has a vibration. Our webs — yours and ours — conduct the vibrations. We can feel anything and everything that touches our domain. This is also how energy works. And why we, and you, and others, can feel things unseen. "It is also why the advice 'go with the flow' is so popular. When you are in the midst of a vibrational event unseen to you, and it feels scary or unpleasant, you have two choices. Brace yourself, stiffen, and remain rigid while you wait for the 'storm' to pass. Or you can relax your being, feel the energy flow, and ride along its ups and downs like you are floating on a river. It may not be where you want to go, but it's quite possible to enjoy the journey. "Spiders practice this every moment. We do it for survival, out of instinct. It is an obvious part of us. Humans feel it is not a part of them and fight it. There is constant struggle. But in a very real way, it is part of them. Learning to feel, work, and live the web is what we are all seeking, though many don't know it. Spiders are reminders." I expressed my gratitude for this very special message. "Thank you for the reminder! And for being such a wonderful being. You are welcome here any time." <pleased, contented expression> "Good luck with your journey," I ended. "And with yours," said the spider. Epilogue:The very next day, the spider disappeared from its cocoon web and hasn't been seen since. Perhaps now that she had made a connection with us, she didn't want to make us sad by leaving behind her physical remains after she had passed on.

Josh, you're so good at this! I just love to read every exchange you have with animals. You bring forth what they want shared in a relatable, humorous, inviting way. Thank you for sharing. My heart is so happy!

I feel exactly the same!! I am heartwarmed by Josh's sensitivity, generosity and humour!! Currently doing my own version of the 2019 Practice Challenge. I think the word 'challenge' is perhaps making me too rigid and self-demanding; still finding my way!! Thanks to all!!!

Ray, I appreciate hearing that. And yes, the word "challenge" can be a scary word. But it's also one that kicks a lot of people in the rear to get them moving! I know not everyone needs that kind of "pressure." Maybe you can call it something else in private? :-)

Hi Josh, I am so enjoying your journal entries. I loved this, I had just spoken to a butterfly that our cat had got hold of, and its wings were all shredded. As I put it somewhere high on our blinds, away from our cat - I decided to take the time to tell it - "it was safe" in our house. After reading what your spider said that "things don't go unnoticed" - this has made me feel even more committed to continue protecting all life still, even our trail of ants in the house wherever possible. I can also so resonate with starting the conversation and stopping halfway, due to the pressure of "having to provide a conversation" ....which you are not sure is real. So that was a relief to know its not just me....
