What's a Practice Camp?
A Practice Camp is a one-week (5-7 days) period of animal communication practice that you can lead on Speak! Good Human. right from your Practice Den. It's a great way to encourage learners to visit and use your Den, interact with you, and get an introduction to you and your personal style. While the content is up to you, the goal is to give learners a little direction and inspiration each day of the camp so they can build skills and confidence and feel like they are progressing.

How Does it Work?
You will go "live" each day for at least a few minutes, right from your Practice Den. You will post your teaching and reference materials in advance, then use the live chat to further guide and interact with students. Because of world time differences, not everyone will be with you live, but because everything is right on your page, they will be able to follow along when they can and ask questions and make comments through the chat. You can then answer when you next visit your page. After the camp is over, everything stays up so that others can take the camp whenever they want. You are no longer "live," but can be available for questions and interaction through email.

Here's the Process:
1. Decide on a Practice Camp length.
2. Decide on a daily time you will be online and available for questions. Many students tend to be in the U.S., but they really come from all over the world.
3. Create a simple curriculum that would work for beginning or intermediate communicators. For example, each day you might present a tip, an activity or exercise, and an animal interaction (ideally, with the animals in your Den). You also might leave some space for Q&As, either from the previous day's practice or the current one.
4. When you've mapped out what you'd like to present, email it all to me, including any links, photos, and hand-outs you'd like to use. You are welcome to do short videos or audio, as well. I will format and upload everything to your Practice Camp page so you can reference them with the students.
5. Each day at your chosen time, go to your Practice Camp page and use the chat feature to answer questions and take students (whether they are there live or not) through the day's practice activities. Keep in mind, not everyone will be able to attend at the same time due to time differences and schedules. This is why posting materials is so important. If they show up and want to follow along when you aren't there or at a later date, they will still be able to benefit from your brilliance!
6. After the camp ends, all the materials and chats will remain so that any other student can come by and begin the camp

FAQs
what's the time commitment?
It's up to you, but likely minimal. After posting instructions for students each morning, you can choose to check back in whenever you want to see if there are any questions or comments you'd like to reply to.
How do i interact with students?
There is a chat feature right on the page that you can begin using immediately. You can also get access to the backend (takes slightly more effort and knowhow) if you wish so that you can interact as the moderator and lead discussions and post polls or pictures.
how do i set up my camp page?
I do it for you! You tell me what to include and I'll put it all together.
what's the targeted skill level?
Probably beginner to intermediate.
what happens after camp ends?
All of your materials and even chat interactions with students remain on your Practice Camp page so that others can take the camp at any time. The goal is to create a feature that will continue to draw in students.
how will students know about my camp?
I will promote it in several areas on the site, as well as on the Speak! Facebook page. If you have students or people on your mailing list who you think would benefit, feel free to spread the word!
what if two teachers are running camps at the same time?
This is set up so that each camp is offered at an optimal time to encourage the most amount of students. So, camps will be scheduled without overlap.
