When I first connected, Skitch showed me her tongue. It was "melty and flowing like taffy." I asked if this is what she wanted me to see and she said "You might want to write it down." So I asked what it meant and she said her tongue muscles are a bit weak and it sometimes makes it hard to swallow. She also showed me she gets winded easily these days. I see her breathing kind of heavily. Does she have some lung congestion or a cough? Like he's getting over an infection? I kept seeing various cats gravitating to her, like they really love her. Her paws seem very sensitive. Not necessarily anything wrong, just that they are. Her tail seems to be in some pain. Possibly related to a tick or a bite of some kind? I feel a little neck strain on her right side. She's a gentle, sweet soul! Her mood is good and happy. Heart seems strong. Hearing is good. Eyesight is good. When I would "sit down" next to her, she loved to come over and "stand" on my lap with her front paws. Feedback:Thank you again for scanning Skitch! I can say that the stuff that did come through was right on the money, so even in a funk, you are sure brilliant!! I will go through point by point. Yes indeed, she is a very gentle and sweet soul for sure. Just as an example of her gentleness—she does have a bit of a prey drive or something, and once I watched with horror as she caught an adult robin (who had been foraging on the ground) in her mouth. I ran to her telling her to drop it and she laid the bird down gently, who immediately flew away seeming completely unharmed and settled above us reading us the riot act, so to speak—scolding most vigorously. She has a great interest in smaller critters but does not seem at all to want to harm them. The tongue piece makes sense to me. I mean, she does occasionally seem to have a challenge swallowing. And she is also a very tongue-y girl—loving to give kisses. I wonder if it might be a side effect of her medication. Ters seemed to be picking up possible side effects of a new medication she is on for what her vet believes is osteoarthritis (one of her diagnosed conditions). I’m wondering, too, if that could be what is up with her getting a bit short of breath lately. I’ll have to ask him about it next time we see him. As I can for sure validate that—she is just recently seeming more short of breath on our walks. More easily winded. I have to pause and wait for her to take a bit of rest now and then. Though I suppose that could also be her seasonal allergies. She does seem to mirror my own conditions, in my observation, and I have asthma that flares up seasonally with my allergies, as it seems to be doing now. And Ters seemed to pick up on some allergy-type stuff going on for her right now, which does seem to be. Very mild. Will keep an eye on this for sure. Cats gravitate to her, yes! And she to cats . The very first time we introduced her to Maverick, hoping they’d hit it off, he came right up to her. They were playing together within less than 5 minutes. We were so happy! She knows the word ‘kitty’ and perks up every time she hears it. A cat or 2 has approached us on walks in the neighborhood and greeted her in a friendly manner. Yes on paw sensitivity! When getting into the car, I have to walk her around to the far side away from a bed of lava type rock, as she doesn’t like to walk on it. Whereas our other dog seems to care less and will get in from either side. Tail I’m not sure but I would not doubt you there. I have not noticed anything, but will watch her and see. She does roughhouse play with our other dog almost every day, and he does sometimes catch at her tail with his mouth—wonder if that could be what happened. Yes, her mood is good and happy . And yes to the heart—the vet just listened to it less than a month ago and said the same thing—seems in fine condition. And her hearing is also good, as is her eyesight. (the latter the vet also confirmed—he said her eyes have very little clouding for a dog of her age. She’s over 8 years old.) Yes to standing on your lap with her front paws!! She does this, in particular with my husband. With me, she has learned I usually object as it hurts my legs, so she rarely attempts with me anymore. I am super glad she did not mention pain in her hips/hind quarters. Our observation is the new drug is helping enormously with the discomfort issues. Thank you SO much for speaking with her! I know she gets a kick out of doing AC. So it was I am sure an enriching experience for her. And then after urging her to check for ticks anyway… Well, what do you know!!! Just double checked her tail more closely, there is a spot on the underside about a quarter of the way down from the base where she appears to have chewed the hair about half way down, in a small area!! just goes to show how body scans can help find stuff the person is not even aware of! There is no tick there now, but i wonder if there was one and she chewed it off? Or maybe it is the predecessor to a hotspot, one time she had one of those. I will keep a close eye on it, and thank you!! WOW!! More validation for you
