This was one of my first big conversations since beginning animal communication. It was also big because this dog had just lost a leg to cancer and he and his family were trying to adjust — a tough topic for a beginner. I actually had several connections with James as his person had feedback and follow-up questions for me. He is depressed because he lost a leg and feels "less than" what he was. He feels like he can't do all the things he used to and that others (humans and animals) will think he is "less." It will take time to see past all of this, but he is having a hard time seeing that at this point. He is also feeling a bit sorry for himself, understandably. And he feels some shock. He knows you love him and want to keep him healthy. He is hinting that he still likes big meaty bones... I'm feeling like he may be requesting a kitten or that having one around would be a good thing! It would be a non-judgmental friend he could start anew with. He wouldn't have to feel competitive, as with another dog. I just see them very happy together. There may be just the right one for him. I see white and gray? I'm also feeling like if you focus on the positives with him, keep him in a positive mindset, he will get through this easier. Tell him all the great things about him. Focusing on what he has lost or is experiencing won't do him the most good. But acknowledging that he has gone through this, that he is brave and it is a very difficult thing will help him feel heard and validated. Keep him doing all the things he's always loved so that he feels like he hasn't lost anything. Rescue Remedy may help him get through this easier. Hope some of this makes sense or helps in some way! I tried to explain to him that all of this was necessary and that you did it to keep him healthy and alive and because you love him so much. You can tell him these things, too. Talk to him as if he understands, because he does! Feedback:Thank you so very much again Josh, you appear to be 'seeing' brilliantly from my point of view :-) . Everything you've stated is so true &/or makes perfect sense.
